The Talent Search program aims to improve the college enrollment rates for middle and high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Target schools are the focus of Talent Search program services that grantees deliver.
This map uses the locale code framework developed by the National Center for Education Statistics. These geographic indictors describe the type of community where a school is located. The City, Suburban, Town and Rural categories are based on population size and proximity to urban areas.
The data displayed is from the grantees' 2021-2022 annual performance reports.
TIPS: The map starts with all grantees and target schools “turned on”. Users can “turn off” target schools in one or more locale categories by clicking on the locale symbols.
In this example, target schools in Rural locales have been removed from the map.
